Toshiba Satellite 220CS problems....

Hi, can anyone help?

I'm reairing an old Toshiba (Satellite 220CS) Laptop for a friend. I re-installed the machine with Win95 (as requested... Booo!) and relocated all the drivers for it from the Toshiba web-site etc.

When the laptop was hooked up to a normal monitor all was OK! But when I try the LCD screen all it does is shine bright white! If you look at the screen from above (or bolow) at an angle you can see all the desctop icons etc but from straight on... nothing but a bright white screen. I can't see any brightness adjustment on the keyboard, so whats the problem? Is the screen past its sell by date or is there an easy correction? Of course I haven't got the instruction book - that would be too easy wouldn't it?

I've tried the 'Tosh' web-site for an archive instruction book for the machine, but the link for archived stuff seems to be dead.

Any help would be greatly appreciated ;o)

Sounds like it's been dropped and the light tube has been dislodged. You'll have to take it to bits. He can repair it.
