Okay so I have a Toshiba Equium A200 with Intel Pentium Dual Core processor. this laptop randomly shuts down due to overheating. The temp of the processor regular runs at around 90 degrees when idle according to Core Temp Utility. So I stripped the laptop down, cleaned out the vents (they weren't blocked anyway), replaced the fan, and replaced heat sink thermal paste for both CPU and GPU. Put it all back together and still same problem. I have now updated the BIOS and problem persists. Any ideas?

My Toshiba satellite also runs hot must be a Tosh problem.

Sounds like you have done all you can internally so apart from sit it on a laptop cooler I can't think of anything else.

I have also re-installed Windows so no crap programmes or viruses tasking the processor, this problem has only occurred in the last couple of months, trouble is every now and again it just shuts down when the temp peaks at 100 degrees
