toolbar removal

Recently bought a Dell Inspiron, Whenever I log-on my desktop shows a jumbo-size toolbar at the top of the screen. How do I delete this

Go to View>Toolbars and untick the offending toolbar.

If it appears on the Desktop rather than in Internet Explorer then right-click the Taskbar, and then go to Toolbars to see if it's listed there. If it is listed and ticked, just click on it to deselect.

Eric10's suggestion is the more likely answer - dunno why I added the IE bit - I got up too early, I think!
