.tmp files on c:/ drive

Recently I noticed that I have a large number of .tmp files on my c:\ drive (e.g. 1B5.tmp, 9E.tmp and 164.tmp). The properties provide no idea of their origin and each file has a size of 0KB.

I have used a utility to remove the files but they are re-created the next time the pc is used.

Any thoughts on what is causing this problem would be appreciated.

these files are created by the software that you are running and will disappear when you turn your PC off.

Eddie, your suggestion was right. I notice that after I remove the .tmp files it is only when I open a certain Visual Basic/Crystal Reports project thay they re-appear. I have no idea why. Thanks.
