TMP Files

My system - running Win2K has a number of files named like
ffe0e297_{F40D569F-5E1B-4F18-96A6-890A6FD6CC13}.tmp all sized 0 bytes

Does anyone know what they are, and are they safe to delete

Where are they? Generally I would say that they can be deleted but it may indicate a problem that they are appearing.

Do you have any sort of system utility running?

if not and they are 0 bytes and are '.tmp' then they should be safe to delete

They are in the WINDOWS folder

no system utility running

They are all with relatively historic dates

restart windows and if all OK wait a day or so to be sure then delete them
But probably safe just to delete them
