Tiscali disk, do I need?

  MidgetMan 20:55 25 Nov 04

Really hurts this post, bearing in mind all the posts about Tiscali disks etc but.

A mate is using Tiscali, and I need t re-format the hd, do I need the disk to re-set up the dailup connection or can I just drag the internet connection icon (which has the phone number/password details etc) onto a memory stick, then drag drop back??? I think this should be ok, but always better to check first.
BTW he has dumped the origanal disk

You can simply save his username / password as well as the tiscali pop3 / smtp server details and then created new ones as necessary.

make a note of the phone number, the rest as Diodorus Siculus said

this is the way you should do it (this is in XP but nearly the same on other OS's)

'>' equals click-on

>control panel
>internet options
to potion is: 'to set up an internet connection' >setup
>choose from a list of isps

your modem will then connect to msn and get you a list of ISP's to connect to automatically. follow the blurb and hey presto.
