A grand daughter either lost or had stolen an i Pod Touch. She now has a replacement 4th generation one and there is an App - Find my iFone- that is free and it will trace an iPhone or i Pod Touch - the latter only when connected to a Wi Fi network. Just installed it with some difficuly but I reccomend it. Have a look on Me.com
