Time Loss - A niggling conundrum!

  toxin 21:27 04 Aug 03

Running XPHome, Jetway mobo, award bios 6, AMD Duron 1.3 Ghz.

When comp is switched off i.e overnight, the clock keeps perfect time.

When switched on and in use the clock looses about a min every hour.

I know it's only a niggle, but has anyone any idea why?

new mobo battery sounds like could be the problem

Sorry Mr Gee - don't agree. If it keeps perfect time when switched off, the battery is doing its job. Sounds more to me like the system is having trouble maintaining the clock whilst the system is running, and this is down to other probs. Most systems do not keep accurate time - this one is just worse than most. There is software you can get to overcome the problem, click here
