tiff file editor advice

Following an illness I have a limited writing ability I would like to be able to scan documents, which I can using Microsoft Office which creates a TIFF file,
and then be able to edit the document,e.g government forms and save and print. Preferably Freeware since I do not need to do this very often, thanks if you can help.

Your scanner probably has OCR, Optical Character Recognition. Scan using that, and you can edit the scan.

Just had a look, it may be called 'Editable text'.
