During the summer 2 of those midge type insects got into my Dell 17" TFT monitor. Can I dismantle the monitor easiy and wipe them from the inside of the screen or is it a job for a professional?

I don't know how easy it would be to dismantle your tft (I don't have one, sob), but, I am fairly certain that if you do, you will invalidate any warranty remaining on the monitor.

I know this isn't much help to you, maybe someone else will have more possitive info.

Not an easy job to take apart with out adequate tools and knowledge.
Also if you bust it you pay for the replacement.
This is one for the service shop and suffer the price.
If they bust it they get you a new one!!!
