Thunderbird vs DVD Burner

Can anyone help? Six weeks ago, I installed Thunderbird as an alternative to OE6. It worked fine until I installed a Samsung DVD Burner last weekend - then Thunderbird became very sluggish to use. Could there be a connection here?
I use Windows XP.

Best Wishes to all

Dave

Try running SFC /scannow in your Start>Run menu.

Can't think of any connection between the two but that doesn't mean there isn't one.

The above should sort out any 'rogue' files. You may need your XP CD unless you've got the I386 directory on your hard drive and a 'pointer' towards it in the Registry.
