Thunderbird Similar Accounts

I have two very similar mail accounts. One is a subaccount of the other.

The main one is chris@*********.plus.com
the other one jonathan@*********.plus.com

They use the same username and password. When I try to add the sub account, thunderbird says,

"A mail or newsgroup account with the same server name and username already exists. Click back, and enter a different user name or Click Cancel."

This means that I can't send an email from jonathan@... because there is no account for it.

Any help would be appreciated.

The same trick works in Windows Mail and Outlook Express, but I need the extensions in Thunderbird
