Thunderbird and Gmail...

Hi guys,

I've been using gmail for quite a while now, and now fancy using an email application instead of webmail. I decided to download mozillas thunderbird.

what advantages does an application have over webmail?

does anyone here use gmail with thunderbird?

anyway, i tried to setup thunderbird and gmail, but it wasnt quite working. I followed the steps on the webpage for gmail. But whenever i tried to check my mail an error message would appear saying that my username and password has been rejected (in similar words).

Does anyone else have the same trouble?

thanks for the quick reply Thalmus!

yes, I enabled pop for "mail that arrives from now on".

is there a difference between pop and pop3?

I cant see any reference to pop3.

Yeah thats the option i meant. Thats the only thing i can think of on the g-mail side. I've never used Thunderbird but i'm sure there is someone here who does and can help you further.
