Hello, I'm about to switch to a new computer and I would love to be able to take all my Thunderbird emails and adresses with me. Is there a (free) way I can do this?

Thunderbird has an Import provision - FAQs here:

Could be worth putting the configuration onto a memory card or flash memory and transferring it that way to the new system.

Yeah, when my pc crashed at the beginning of last year (2006) I restored all my emails which go back to 2002 from my OE days, and this program beautifully restored them all back, folders and all, and I do a back up twice a month and save to my other hard drive, and before I do the back up I always compact folders. You don't need to install it, you just run the backup.exe and follow the on screen prompts whch are self explanatory.

Using Thunderbird 2.0.0.4 & MozBackup 1.4.5

Forgot to mention, this will back up Firefox as well.
(If you use F/F as your browser)

sorry my mistake, you do have to install it, as I have just updated my version to 1.4.6, and once installed just click on the backup.exe file and follow on screen prompts.
