Thunder storm unplug computer ?

Hi were just about to have a huge thunder storm here, what does every one else do ? do you unplug the computer ? i have one of those surge plugs connected to mine is it ok too leave computer on with a thunder storm ?

I always turn mine off, unplug from the mains and disconnect the modem. It depends how much you trust the anti-surge device.

Don't rely on surge plugs for safety during thunderstoms they are not designed to protect against lightning strikes (unless they specifically are designed for lighning strike protection), unplug the PC and, more importantly, disconnect it from the telephone socket.

Your PC is valuable to you and contains some of your valuable information, it would be difficult to recover some of what is on your PC should the worst happen, be safe not sorry.

It is also a fire risk.
