Thinkpad wireless problems

Hello forum,

I have a new Thinkpad T30 from work and whatever I do I don't seem to be able to get it to connect to my wireless network.

A wireless card is definitely installed and in device manager is apparently "working properly" but when I try to list available networks it does not find any and responds as if the network adapter is switched off...for example it does not make any effort to even search for them like laptops usually do when all is working well.

I know the wirless network is fine because my other laptop finds it and connects without trouble.

Its like the network adapter is not even switched on...but I cannot find a switch to turn the adapter on or off.

Any ideas?

Make sure the IBM utility is installed and running that handles the wireless facility. My acer wouldnt connect in exactly the same way it took me weeks to work out why. I cannot remember the name of the IBM utility but its available on the restore CDs or click here

I could find no other work arounds for this problem myself.
