Thinkpad Windows problem

I have just got a second hand Thinkpad 560E on which no windows package was installed. As there is only a floppy drive I installed DOS 6.22, and then installed Windows 3.11, as this is the only package I have on floppies. When I start the pc, the dos prompt appears, but when i type WIN the whole thing just stops dead after didplaying the Windows logo. I have downloaded uttp2w31.exe and uttpfper.exe and uttpperd.exe from ibm and run uttp2w31 which has created the driver directories, but still no windows. The IBM site has lots of files available, but not much in the way of assistance. Any ideas?

Try a reformat and reinstall of Win3.1 - it has been known to make a difference.

Having said that, it sounds like you did it correct; install DOS and then Windows. May be a problem with a driver conflict.
