ThinkPad 600 CMOS battery dying

  Chris the Ancient 20:13 08 Sep 04

My ThinkPad 600 (Model 2645 45U) is losing time on the built-in clock. Therefore I suspect that the CMOS battery is on the way out.

Although I have an on-line user manual for the lappie, it doesn't say anything about changing the CMOS Battery.

Anyone out there done it? Is it easy? Can you give me a rough idea where to go in the gubbins (techie term!) to replace it?

Will pop back in later to see if the 'day shift' have any ideas.

Many, many thanks for that valuable link - gone into my favourites!

I always had the user manual, but not the hardware manual. I'm a happy bunny!

Thanks also for the extra info.
