Thinkpad 365x and PCMCIA cards

I have a Thinkpad 365x and have a problem with the PCMCIA cards, cd, modem and network.

Suddenly when inserting the cards Win 98 tells me to examine the Config.sys to delete any memory manager that is preventing access to memory range A000 to FFFF which is preventing the cards from being recognised. There is nothing in config relating to this. The PCMCIA controller is shown as active and with no problems.

The cards were working last week and no programmes have been added or deleted

Has anyone any ideas of how I can progress this problem. Thanks in hope

PS I know this laptop is rather elderly now, but it still does the job I use it for

I think the memory manager is emm386 but I don't know how to effect the changes

Solved the problem.
Card sevices were missing.
Rebooted into safe mode, found card services in device manager, enabled them, checked drivers and rebooted.
PCMCIA services back in action
