Ive bought a couple of games recently, only cheap games, but I still want to play them. When they load in the graphics are all over the place, Mafia has only grey textures and Lock On Air Combat Simulator has similar issues but most things are black. Ive been advised that it may be because my PC has a integrated graphics processor (Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL) rather than a dedicated graphics card. Is this likely to be true? Other games (Pro Evolution 5, GTAIII, GTA Vice City, IL2 Sturmovik etc) all work ok. I dont want to spend a fortune (about £70 if I can). What would you good people recommend?
You ask if its likely to be true and the answer is yes.
Onboard graphics are fine for most things but not for games. What you have to do first is check that your computer has either a PCI Express graphics card slot or an AGP one. If it has neither then you'll really be struggling. For £70-90 you can get a pretty good card but you need to find what your computer has first in the way of graphics card slots before you do anything else.
