Is there a way to rip cds on to your computer.....

that it will appear in mp3 format all i have is windows and i have to convert the file everytime cause i cant transfer it on to itunes so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks

If you have Windows Media Player you can Rip your CDs and burn them to a disk (providing you Enable the feature).

There's a Rip tab at the top of the WMP screen.

If you go to WMP's Tools>Options>Rip Music tab you'll find the configuration for the type of file to rip to and the quality.

From My Computer>Explore>highlight your rewriter>right click>Properties>Recording tab>tick the Enable CD recording on this device box.

You can't use DVDs, although IIRC this may be possible with Vista.
