Hi guys ,just need some advice.
I currently have a desktop running on xp connected to broadband via a BT voyager 105 usb adsl modem supplied by the isp. I have just bought a laptop and want to use it to connect to the internet ocasionally via my desktop running on vista, can this be done but with out using WiFi. PLEASE USE LAYMANS TERMS if you have a solution.

That model isn't Vista compatible;click here

You either need another Vista compatible modem or a Combined ADSL/Modem Router (wired or wireless)

Or you could fit another network card to the desktop pc and use Internet Connection Sharing. click here

Thanks for advice. can i just run it through with you so i'm happy in my own mind. If i say i get a bt voyager 240 and replace my existing 105 i can wire up both desktop & laptop throught it and hey presto!

which has both an Ethernet Socket and a USB Socket.

I connect my Laptop through the USB socket which allows the two to Network as well.
