TFT Resolution

Hi I am looking to upgrade our monitors to TFT displays.

But the software is designed to run in 800x600.

It seems 15in displays run at 1024x768 and trying to ron then at 800x600 results in a poor quality image

Are there TFTs that will run at 800x600 and still give a sharp image?

Ron,

As far as I am aware all TFT monitors can run at 800x600. 1024x768 is the max resolution.

I have mine set at 800x600 as anything higher makes text and icons too small on a 15" screen.

They all will run at 800*600, just drop it down a notch or two. The quality wont be brilliant but hey it is 800*600.

Hi Tony, Yea I know, but the Image on the Samsung I have tried is poor in 800x600, switching to 1024x768 the image is superb but its too small.

If you run a TFT at any resolution other than it's native one, then the display will be inferior. j.

The native resolution for a 15" TFT is 1024x768.

I thought that might be the case.
But Samsungs help-line said that I need to get a better graphics card, and that it should run at 800x600 and still be sharp.
Why do they call them Sync-master? does this mean they should run at different resoutions?

Increasing the font size to 120 works.
But the problem is that the font which we use at the point of sale still stays small. everything else s fine.

The reason why a TFT isnt sharp is because anything other than its native resolution it is having to try and split pixels to make the image, it is a limitation of the technology, it isnt a fault.
