TFT monitors...what specs do you look for?

Hello all,

Basically I am on the lookout for a tft monitor.

Never bought one before so I dont really know what I should be looking.

I mainly use my pc for playing games these days so it would have to be good enough to play fast first person shooters.

What sort of specs/numbers should I be looking at?

Thanks for you help.

vaughan007, to play games on a TFT you have to make sure the "Response Time" of the monitor is good enough.

The monitor must have a response time of a least 16ms, preferably quicker, to be able to play games and avoid ghosting.

Also knowing what the native resolution of the monitor is. This is the resolution that the monitor defaults to and is configured to work best at.

If you want to play a game at resolutions below the native one, the image quality can be quite bad.

HTH, dagwoood.
