I use a Toshiba Portege M200 Notebook/Tablet Convertible, but mostly in notebook mode on the desk.

In my late 50s and on the advice of notebook experts and a couple of friends, I have decided to get an external 17" or 19" TFT monitor.

What are the critical specifications and features I should be looking for? Also, as I abroad mostly, I'd like to have one with a folding base so I can pack it or send it out by courier service such as DHL.

I've seen some good reviews on LG models, but still need real users' opinions!

I'd like to know if anyone has set up these monitors to double up as TV units, the dabs site shows a TV accessory for the LG 17 ".
