Using a Philips X59 laptop which has led a hard life with granddaughter.
When typing an email or any text for example the inputted charac ters frequently jump back and insert themselves into a previous word causing a garbled message.
A colleague suggested disabling the touch pad and using a usb mouse as she had similar problem with her Toshiba and it solved the problem.
Unfortunately i can't see how to disable the touchpad so can't try this.
any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You should be able to use a USB mouse anyway, no need to disable touch-pad.

Your wrist is contacting the touchpad causing this jumping bit. Download and install "Touchfreeze" which automatically disables the touchpad when you are typing.

The touchpad is only disabled when you type, at all other times it functions as normal.
