Test a PSU ?

Hi all,

Read some where how to run a PSU outside the computer, by shorting across two wires on the ATX plug, to simulate a load, trouble is can't remember which wires, any one know ?

Reason for above is fuse blew on the mains lead plug, on investigation the PSU was very hot,
just want to see what may be the reason, ie fan packed up etc. Don't want to try it in computer in case of further damage.

The PSU was a GlobalWin 520w super silent with thermal sensing jobbie (not a cheapy).

Thanks in advance

Regards Bob

click here this will not test it under load - only fool it into thinking it is connected to a motherboard to start

goes without saying take great care when doing this
