Temporary internet Folders

I regularly empty my Local Settings\Temporary Internet Folders but, when I run my AVG Anti-Virus, it still sifts through thousands of files within this folder - even after I've seemingly delelted everything in every Temporary Internet Folders folder on my C drive. What's happening and how come that these files aren't accessible to delete ?

Are you deleting these files off your hard drive or into your recycle bin? If you are doing the latter, then they will stay on your hard drive until you empty the recycle bin.

There are plenty of others out there as shareware/freeware etc. One I've used for some time is click here.

Seem to have been solved by using Internet options but thanks for all the help.
