temporary internet files

I had a problem trying to delete my temporary internet files. There were so many files my PC could not cope when I tried to delete them. I eventually managed to delete them using Norton Cleansweep.

I am using Win XP pro and IE v6.0. My hard disk is 60 GB. I have now set my temporary internet files limit to 300 MB.

Is this a reasonable limit? Is there a recommended percentage that should be reserved for temporary internet files?

Temporary Internet Files are there to help you load pages faster - if you have broadband the benefit is negligible.

I have mine set at 10MB and have no speed issues at all.

Set at 3MB here after some experiments to minimise page loading times.
