Temporary Files

I'm running ME on a Mesh Laptop.

I have been looking at some temporary files held on my C Drive and am amazed at how many there are.
Is there a way of detecting whether they are actually in use, or useful. I am very wary of just deleting thousands of files just in case my system packs up. Is it a case of just living with them.

Any thoughts please.

at the top of your webpage select tools/internet options/temp files delete is the safest way of protecting yourself and improving performance without deleting anything important.

Temp files can be safely deleted. Most of them are left behind by programs during installation which fail to delete them afterwards. The standard advice seems to be, if a folder or file in a Temp folder is more than 7 days old, you can go ahead and delete them.

Temporary internet files can be deleted at any time.

Thank you for that.
