I know how to empty but what I would like to know is where can I find the files in windows explorer in XP-Home, it was easy in win98/millenium

On C drive - documents and settings - name of primary user - local settings (you may need to view hidden files and folders) and there they are

I use Gandalfs link CCleaner to clear things up every so often, never caused me any problems. Has also proved handy when I had a virus that AVG couldn't or wouldn't remove for some reason, the infected file in question was in the temporary Internet files. Since CCleaner deletes them it got rid of the virus, handy I thought.

I can also recommend using CCleaner.
It's a very handy utility to have.
