Telling the server'this is not Spam'

I trawl my server 'spam Box' from time to time to see what is there and to clear it.
Occasionally a particular item will be there that I really needed- a particular instance the FreeCycle stuff comes into my In box as normal but not all, some the server sends to SPAM
So looking at the options on the server I can move items back to in box and so forth but how do I tell the server that 'This/these item/s is not SPAM?

Hard to say without knowing your email provider, but try looking at any email rules that might be setup to reject emails that contain certain words "Viagra" for example.

All or any emails can be mistaken as spam. There's no sure fire way to stop non spam from going in the spam slammer. The only thing you can do, so as not to lose anything vital is to regularily check the file. I check my spam file everyday, before clearing it. Even though I've set-up my email software with various blockers, there'll always be those that slip through the net.
I use 'Incredimail Xe' free version.

It gives me the ability to filter incoming emails to various folder I have set-up and also ways in which to block and bounce back to where they come from, this gives me a great deal of satifaction.
In my opinion. the worse kind of spam, is one that I seem to be getting more of than any other. They can't be bounced, all you can do is delete them. These have the return address set as yours. I even open the 'Properties' on some spam, it sometimes contains other email addresses, different to the return address. I set up a block for these. I've mamaged to get my spam down to a maximum of around 14 actual spam mails in the course of a day. I don't use any other spam blocker.
