hi, using this site click here you can test your dload speed. i'm looking for other Telewest customers using 1mb broadband to compare our speeds. i have just completed several test, the last being at 16.10 pm. my speeds are roughly 400-500, but earlier it was 220, with upload of only 85. just looking to see if anyone else on tlelewest is having similar.

just completed another. dload is 188, while the upload is 72. not too good me thinks. can't figure out if i have a router problem or just getting a bad deal from telewest.

Perhaps all your neighbours are downloading large files and using the bandwidth :o)

I've got two machines here sharing that connection by the way.

Just for comparison, these are the latest results from my Pipex 512 broadband:

Downstream 457 Kbps (57.1 KB/sec) 493 Kbps (inc. overheads)

Upstream 244 Kbps (30.5 KB/sec) 263 Kbps (inc. overheads)

Your 1mb service seems LOW!

Another UK speed test source:

If your speeds continue to be consistently low, then a discussion with Telewest is called for.

Keep a record over the next few days, with the tests being done at various times.
