Hi you tech. wizards!
My daughter has a SLR Camera (Canon 400D)and I have a Canon Powershot S2IS. My question is:- Can I use a Teleconverter on my camera and use some of her Lens. As you can see from my question I am fairly new to photography.
Many thanks,

It depends if you have the correct teleconverter. I used to use one on an old Zenit camera for a 135mm Canon lens but the contacts didn't line up and I didn't get an on-screen display, but the lens worked okay.

The DSLR has an interchangable lens, whereas the powershot as a fixed lens. So you cannot fix the standard type tele convertor.

There is such a thing as a Tele convertor lens that fits on the end of the fixed lens or on the end of an interchangable lens and you could buy step up/down rings so that it would fit either camera, but in my opinion you would have to be desperate to take this route
