TEAC CD Writer - Buffer - do this retain data?

  CPI 22:23 16 Mar 05

I am about to give my Pentium3 800MHZ away to charity and have wiped the hard disc using proprietory software from my employers. Having previously copied work from the office onto my home PC using the TEAC CD-Rom drive, I am concerned as to whether any residual data will be retained there.

Can anyone assist?

The buffer is just RAM, I think, so any data would dissappear when the power is turned off. Besides, I doubt that there is any way for that data to be extracted, even if anyone wanted to try.
