I am currently just hanging on to the WIN98SE OS.

I have a 16Mb USB memory stick which came with a driver and which works OK.

I and have recently bought a TDK 4GB Flash Drive (£9.99 from Tesco), and can't find a driver to make it work.

Why one and not the other?

Is there a driver which would allow my new drive to work under WIN98SE?

Are you using USB 1.1 or 2.0

It looks just what I was looking for. I have installed driver, but drive still "not ready"

I have USB 2.0 drivers installed for ext HD, card reader and previously mentioned memory stick and remain puzzled.

Is the drive pre formatted?
If it is and probably NTFS then Win 98 will not be able to see it.

Stick it in a XP Vista machine and format as FAT32 then maybe it will show up in your win98 machine.

Windows 98SE does not provide native support for most USB devices (exception is USB keyboard and mice using legacy USB BIOS support). For other USB devices, you'll need to install a suitable driver. These drivers are provided by the manufacturer of the device.

Have now formatted drive to FAT32 and installed the correct manufacturers driver.
Also
I have tried the drive in USB port which normally hosts my printer.
Fed up and stumped.

In XP machine after format is done, right click, unallocated drive and make it active.

Not quite as described, but the drive is sown as active on XP laptop?
