Task Scheduler won't run in XP

I have recently installed Windows XP Pro and have attempted to set up routine backups to run from Task Scheduler.

The tasks do not run and the log states "could not start".

When I double-click the item in the log, I get the error message "General page initialisation failed. Error 0x8009000f. Object already exists."

Microsoft's knowledge base article 246183 refers to Windows 2000 and suggests resetting a Registry Key that does not exist in XP.
