when i tried to transfer itunes the comp freezes task manager says itunes not responding i've now removed tunes reloaded with disc but it will not load because its says a later version is already on m/c installation cannot continue. what do i do please help

I do not use xp myself but you may find you have to disable the system restore points before you can completely remove an old programme. Is there a folder called tunes in the c:\program files directory? If so deleting this maybe enough to enable you to re-install. Otherwise you may have to delete some registy entries before you can proceed. It may worth visiting the software producers website to see if they have a removal tool.
