Could anyone tell me how I can change the icons which appear on the task bar of programs which I have open.
I am using windows 98 2nd edition

I know nothing about Win98 but on Winxp I click start then right click on a blank part of this screen then click on the properties icon this gives me access to the Taskbar. I don't know if you are able to do this with Win98, but as no one else has replied at least it will bump it back up to the top!

It may be worth noting that some of the shortcut Icons which appear on the Desktop and quick launch bar cannot have their Icons changed.
