TalkTalk broadband

  guesswho2 18:36 09 Dec 06

I changed from Onetel dialup to Talktalk broadband in July and was sent a USB Speedtouch modem. I double click on a Talktalk icon to get my internet connection.
When my daughter joined up recently, she was provided with a different modem with an ethernet connection. She apparently can get an internet connection by clicking on Internet Explorer.
If I do that I simply get a message saying page not available and I can only access the internet by clicking in the TT icon. Am I doing something wrong or is it just that TT technology changed between July and December?

I have always been able to go straight on using Explorer and have made my home page Google. So I just click on Explorer and away I go.

An Ethernet connection is Always On - you have to "dialup" the USB connection.

In internet explorer click on tools-connections-
talktalk broadband should be default connection and Always dial my default connection selected.

Thanks folks for your replies.
I guess that Stuartli has put his finger on it - again! Many thanks S, that explains it.
