System Update Readiness Tool for Windows Vista

Hello, windows update has been attempting to install this System Update Readiness Tool for Windows Vista (KB947821) [September 2009] since September, however it always fails, giving the error code below, anyone any ideas why this fails? i have checked the internet, but can't find the answer!

tallation status: Failed

Error details: Code 9370001

Try this

Download the patch from here

click here

and save it to your desktop. Then reboot your computer into Safe Mode (tap F8 as system is booting and select Safe Mode).

Then double click the downloaded file on the desktop and follow prompts to install. Then reboot into Normal mode.

It's ironic that this patch is designed to enable Windows to download updates more easily.

If that does not work then you can hide it to stop it being offered.
