System Start Up Problem

This may seem daft, but when I turn my computer on, the tower makes all the right noises, but nothing appears on the screen. The screen light shows that it is on, but the screen itself remains blank. However when I push the restart button the system closes down and then restarts as normal and the screen comes on as normal and away I go.

I am aware that the restart button shouldn't be used unless necessary, and am concerned that using it every time I switch on may cause future problems.

This has only been a problem for the last month or so when an engineer fixed another unrelated problem

Does anyone have any ideas on remedies? Failing all else I can always recall the engineer!
