Each time I try changing to a earlier restore point,I get this message.

"System Restore was unable to restore your computer to the specified restore point. Select another restore point and try to perform the restoration again."

What can I do?

Try restoring in safe mode

It would help to know why you need to restore ?

You maybe in need of a new restore point, only create this if the computer is working ok.

Are you sure you are using restore dates that are shown in Bold print, the other dates are not restore points.

Enter MCONFIG from RUN and goto the system restore. It may work from there.

Skidzy: I have loaded Ghost 12 and each time I try to backup my D and E drives to my Maxtor I get the message " Device\\ SymatecSnapshot1 connot read 12288 sectors starting at LBA 180405160" therefore, as I'm not to good at all this PC stuff I thought I may have mucked up my Dand E drives. Ghost backs up my C drive just fine?

Should be msconfig - then look under Tools. Can't see why it would make a difference though.
