System restore restored

A useful note for those like myself who can never get System Restore to work when I really need it is on page 104 of this months PCA.

Go to My Computer, then properties, System Restore.

Turn off System Restore and click Apply, it then takes a minute to clear the files. Then untick the turn off box click Apply and Exit.

Go back into System Restore, set settings for drives applicable and create a new restore point.

I hope this cleanout works .

Thanks but this doesn't work with my netbook (XP).

The route I have to take is;

Start > settings > control panel > system > system restore.

Then adjust settings.

And the other way is Start\Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Restore

And yet another way is by copying the SR shortcut in woodchip's post to your Desktop or Quick Launch for easier access. G

The acid test will be if it actually works when I really need it, I have managed to get it to go via Safe Mode but all other times it has failed so far.
