System Restore

  osben 13:36 25 Feb 04

I have many thousands of files in the c:\restore\temp folder and want to delete them and start again.

I have turned restore of but system will not let me delete the files.

I did do this some time ago but unable to remember how to now.

Operating system is ME

Anyone able to help??

As far as I can recall, in ME you go to: Control Panel\System. Then choose the Performance tab, then the File System button, then the Troubleshooting tab and change the check box option.

Doing this should purge evrything from SR without you having to try to delete. Don't forget to turn it back on afterwards.

You may need to restart after turning SR off and on. I can't remember for certain.

Thanks for the reply but I have tried that and it does not work.

Have you tried limiting the size of the system restore folder to say 5% or less of the drive ?

This should purge older files automatically as new ones are written.
