System Password Problem

  FinsGrandad 03 May 11

I was asked by a friend to password protect their pc so that no one could go in and change settings in the main part of the pc. So i pressed F2 in order to go in and set an administrators password and system password, which seemed ok, now the problem i have is that when i restarted the pc and it asked for the password it would not allow me to type it in, now this has completely baffled me as my keyboard works perfectly well but not when i want to insert the password. Does anyone have any idea how i can get around this. Thankyou in advance.

Which OS and why put in two passwords?

If you mean a BIOS password and a logon password, the BIOS password can be cleared as detailed here link text. Logon passwords may be more difficult depending which OS and which link text link text link text.

If none of the above apply, you will need to come back with a better description of what you have done.

Sounds like you are using a USB keyboard

try using a PS2 keyboard
