System Information

XP Home, if I request this program from System Tools, or Run msinfo32.exe, the help and support service opens instead. Nothing obvious in Microsoft K/B. Any ideas, please?

I'd forgotten I'd posted before! Must be the Xmas festivities, didn't get entered into long-term memory!

Stuartli, Winmsd just opens Help and Support.

Start menu, I can't see where to add '/Categories ...'

you said this one worked for you, start run and type

msinfo32 /categories +all -loadedmodules

in that case create a batch file, and put it on your desktop or even add it as a qucik launch whenever you want to use msinfo32.exe use the batch file, only way around it im afrad, if you could not solve it from all the info i gave you last time!

goto notepad

copy and paste this info in it

C:cd C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MSInfo
msinfo32 /categories +all -loadedmodules

click the x and it will ask u to save click yes

for file name call it msinfo.bat

and for file type click all files

click save

try it!

if it doesn't work i can send u mine or upload it to my site
