I have just been offered a system and would like anyones opinion please. I have owned a laptop for a while and wanted to get a system for games and wanted to know if these specs would handle todays games. the system is an AMD xp3000+. ASUS A7N8X-E DELUXE MOTHERBOARD. 120 GB SATA 7200 HARD DRIVE. 512MB DDR MEMORY. 256MB RADEON 9600 PRO GRAPHICS CARD. CD DRIVE IS 52X AND ITS RUNNING XP HOME. Any comments i would be grateful for. Also would like to know what the xp 3000+ processor runs at.

It should take all you can throw at it but games work better on Win98se

The only change I would make is to get a DVD Rom.

Unreal Tournament 2004 comes on 2 DVD's or 6 CD's.

The 3000+ runs at 2.167GHz for the 333Mhz model and 2.1Ghz for the 400Mhz model.

Thanks for all your advice. Must admit thought the graphics card might let it down a little.

My son has that card on his XP system and games fly - it may not be top of the range but it only cost £120 compared to £300+ for the top drawer ones. As usual you get what you pay for.
