System Error - divide by zero or overflow

I am running Win XP and am trying to use an Ultimate Family Tree programme which was written for Win 95/98.

Installation seems to be OK and I have tried running it in compatable mode for both 95 and 98.When I try to use the programme I get the introductory screen and on clicking on the icon to start the main part of the programme there is a pause and then the message "System Error - divide by zero or overflow error" appears. Clicking OK terminates the programme.

What does the error message mean and is there a way to get the programme to run? I have looked at previous "overflow" threads but none are helpful. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
