system error !

please help, every time my pc starts up i get a message in the bottom right saying "windows-system error insufficient system resources exist to compleat the api". can someone please tell me what is going on and what to do about it, i am running xp sp2. thanks.

This usually happens with laptops, but you could try the same remedy - disable and then re-enable hibernation.

Right-click the desktop and click on "properties".

click the screen saver tab.

click the power settings button

in the power options properties dialogue box click the hibernate tab.

uncheck the enable hibernation check box.
click OK then click OK again

Then repeat the process and check enable again.
